In Hur är läget, Sverige?, carefully composed images and distinctive portraits take us into homes and workplaces across the country. By weaving together the simple, the mundane, and the existential, the project creates a visual record of our time. It reflects a highly multifaceted country and opens up an important conversation about who we are as a society and where we are heading.

Mina drömmars land is a new documentary film initiative from the Swedish Film Institute, SVT Documentary & Short Film, and Folkets Bio. The project supports six experienced directors in creating short contemporary documentaries that explore what is at stake for people in Sweden today and in the run-up to the 2026 general election. The aim is to bring personal, engaging stories to the fore—stories that open up conversations about the challenges facing society, perspectives that risk being overshadowed in public debate, and unexpected crossroads in our time. The selected films will have a joint premiere at the Tempo Documentary Festival in March 2026, be distributed by Folkets Bio, and broadcast on SVT ahead of the election.
